The team participated in the finals of Project B, focusing on the image classification problem in the manufacturing industry. The organizers provided thousands of manufacturing images, and the task involved binary classification based on specific questions.
The team members started with a preliminary analysis using the simplest logistic regression model. They then enhanced their approach by gaining a deeper understanding of the problem features. This involved appropriate data augmentation techniques applied to the images. Additionally, they introduced more powerful classification models such as ResNet and DeiT. The team further improved the predictive model by employing ensemble learning techniques.
The final predictions and the presentation of the project were well-received by the judges, leading to the team being awarded an excellent rating and receiving an outstanding prize.
