Dr. Blue received his bachelor in Business Administration, master in Industrial Engineering and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, all from National Taiwan University.
Before joining the faculty of the Institute of Industrial Engineering, Dr. Blue was affiliated with the Department of Manufacturing Sciences and Logistics at École des Mines de Saint-Étienne in France for eight years. He had collaborated with the semiconductor industrial partners in the European projects as well as advised five Ph.D. theses in the domain of semiconductor process control.
Dr. Blue's research interest can be generally described as applied statistics. He specializes in statistical data mining in the semiconductor context. Recent focuses are the advanced process and equipment control for optimal production decisions and the explainable AI techniques for unboxing neural network models. He is now leading the laboratory of analytics on knowledge engineering of the Institute of Industrial Engineering at NTU.
