Abstract:
With the rapid development of autonomous vehicle technology, the increasing complexity of systems has made safety and reliability crucial. This study proposes a fault injection framework based on system-theoretic process analysis to simulate potential unsafe control actions in autonomous emergency braking systems (AEB). As a cyber-physical system (CPS), AEB features multiple sensors, communication networks, and controllers. In this case study, three subsystems are analyzed for unsafe control actions: 1) sensors, 2) communication networks, and 3) AEB controllers. The unsafe control actions are simulated and risk analyzed using fault injection methods.
